We made a new life, your mother and I
(but to be fair, she did most of the work);
a powerful symbol to signify
our passionate and affectionate quirk.
You are the consequence of our intent;
the product of our calculated will;
our natural effect, you represent;
the outcome of a plan that you fulfill.
You are the combination of us both;
of our two integers, you are the sum
and we excitedly observe your growth
to meet the person that you will become.
One woman and one man created you:
your parents made one person out of two.
