Response to @danielsfuneral: "Shouldn't be too hard for a intellectually profound atheist like you though, yeah?"
"This follows from the first part of my dissection of this post, which is basically one big, almost literal, red flag. Now, I attended just enough Christian youth camps in my teenager years to remember this exact tactic of picking fights with strangers online because taught in their workshops, with the goal of sharpening our ability to confidently recite creationist rhetoric and talking-points. The practice is designed specifically to reinforce itself: on the rare occasion that you do actually manage to convert your target, it reinforces that the power of the Lord has been channeled through you, and adds character points to your divine stat sheet; if you're met with resistance, skepticism, or mockery, it reinforces the claim in 2 Timothy chapter 3, that the followers of Jesus will suffer persecution. As you can see, I still haven't managed to fully kick the habit myself: I've just sort of redirected it."
