Response to @givingthegirlsev: "Hello sir I watched your take on death and started crying did u mean that death is just a 'permanent sleep' I cannot comprehend 😭"
"I feel like I really owe this one a response, and I am sorry that it took me so long. A permanent sleep sounds endless and maddening, because sleep can bring nightmares just as easily as dreams. Instead, I think of death as a state of exitsenceless unbeing: we just...aren't anymore. But what I hold to now, as I ride this rickety airship of life, is the inviolate principle of causality. Every effect we have, every bit of meaning we create, alters the topography of the world in ways that outlive and outlast us, and the memories of us persist in the minds and lives and actions of those who follow after. We are gone; but we are remembered. And most importantly: do not ever feel bad for not comprehending. No one does: we are all just stumbling blindly through the darkness. When it comes to this subject, the goal is not to know, but to be comfortable knowing that we cannot know."
