Avalon Rising is a filmic adaptation of a novel of the same name, and was released in March of 1998.
The theatrical cut of the film runs 163 minutes.

The movie was released in a special edition DVD in June of 2008 including a making-of documentary, as well as thirteen short films chronicling the stories of most of the movie's minor characters before and after their involvement in the events of the film.
