TextEdit

I watched the world change in a single night.
I saw the People face their sordid past;
a generation born to set this right.

In the crowd-beset streets of Hamilton Height,
and the multitude swarming Grant Park so vast;
I watched the world change in a single night.

I saw the young and old, the black, the white,
the Muslim, Christian, nonbelieving cast:
a generation born to set this right.

For all to see, the country showed her might
on that cold November evening, holding fast.
I watched the world change in a single night.

From Many, One, trading ignorance for light,
and moved by consequences unsurpassed;
a generation born to set this right.

I saw the passion of a Nation reach its height
as the Kenyan son of Kansas spoke at last,
and the world was changed in a single night
by a generation born to set this right.
